"In April, WYSO received verification that it had secured three capital improvement grants, totaling $58,118, from the Ohio Educational Telecommunications Network Commission (OENTC). These funds will support 40% of the anticipated costs of retrofitting WYSO's Performance Studio for professional broadcast/recording purposes ($29,333), establish a high-end, digital production facility ($9,898), and reimburse Antioch University for the costs of purchasing and installing the station's digital automation system ($18,887). " Station Manager Steve Spencer from his report to the Antioch Board of Trustees (June 2000)
"Perhaps you've heard several local stories during Morning Edition or All Things Considered reported by our News Director, Aileen LeBlanc...tuned in to an interview with a well-known author on the Book Nook with Vick Mickunas...or attended a concert after hearing about it on the Concert Calendar." From a WYSO fundraising appeal dated March 7, 2000
"Given the local market, the opportunity clearly exists for WYSO to improve the size of its audience, the amount of time they rely on the station, and, therefore, the number and size of contributors. It will, however, require creative experimentation, reliance on the experience of other influential stations, and the courage to further develop its local identity as a leader in creativity and depth of programming" Station Manager Steve Spencer from A Managerial Analysis of WYSO dated November, 2000
"I appreciate Vick's work and hope he can return as soon as possible. Please know that I am involved in doing everything possible to help a valued employee at WYSO return to the air. Please also know that the Resource Board values our Station Manager and support him fully. Under Steve's leadership revenue and listener ship is up considerably." e-mail sent by WYSO Resource Board Chair Randy Daniel to former supporter Paul Laursen, November 2003
